Ducklings; a game where you steal orphaned ducklings to have them renovate your nest!

A little more instruction on Souls would be nice, otherwise I would have gotten further more quickly. Exponential notation being an option would also be nice. I understand that you may not be going for a game that can be completed quickly, but after beating the first 3 castles, securing gold enough to buy 100 demons as quickly as I can throw them (and still be making money), I calculated out somewhere between 28000 and 35000 clicks for me to bust down all the castles. That's assuming I continued from where I was, and using highest-efficiency units, would take an extraordinarily long time that I don't really feel like spending on a flash game just clicking even though (realistically) I've already got the resources to end the game. You might want to set it up so you can only hit the next castle up before moving on, as you could feasibly move past before needing to do other castles. Being able to auto-assault the next castle in the campaign would be useful (some kind of commander upgrade perhaps?) to continue the idle-type game-play. Perhaps upgrades there to increase the rate at which they throw minions at the castles, auto-buying minions, and access to commanding greater minions as well would be a nice addition. Still, at this point it's little more than an executed idea, not quite polished or well-thought out for your main-gaming crowd, even though it's been out for nearly 8 months.

We just added a "hire max" toggle, that makes the campaign to scale better with the income you generate, reducing the amount of unnecessary clicking.

We waited to release the game here, because we wanted to have a different perspective on the user reviews (because when we released in kongregate, we developed it "on the run" during the first month since release), now we are working on a sequel after reading all the feedback (doing small improvements here and there, that could be integrated in the sequel), so if you have any other suggestions, please let us know ;)

Thanks very much for your feedback!

More loading screens than sonic '06. Facebook-intended game. Controls are laggy and loose. Combos don't work. The artistry is ok, but could certainly be improved.

Thank you very much for your value comment. I am greatly appreciated. Actually the strongest point of this game is the very smooth control but you were absolutely right that it was so laggy here which I just noticed. This was so much different from the version on my own host at www.chicksurvival.com could you please try that one and tell me if there is any lag.

It will be my greatly appreciate if you can point me out any potential reason why it is so much laggy here even though the game here is pointing to the same swf source file. Thankyou again for your value comment.

It's a good game, with simple, yet enjoyable gameplay. However, I seem to have run into a bug, as every time I finish a dungeon level, Firefox seizes up and stops responding. It saves my position,(much praise to getting a working save system!) so it allows me to continue with the crawl, but I have to restart firefox every time. Otherwise, it's good, enjoyable, and not too difficult.

clever, i ended up losing no lives, but wishing my monitor was a bit cleaner!

It was too easy

Overall, the concept and execution are wonderful, however, balance is a serious issue.
except for the first level, where i was getting a feel for the game, every level can be completed with just the hero, strafing up and down while toggling through the weapons firing off as much as he can since the opposing weapons don't do a huge amount of damage quick enough for the repair to not cover it. Basically, to force people to play the game, i'de say make the base turret do about 5 or 10 times the dmg to the hero unit. Then, force the computer to also build up like the player does, this will stop the computer from just mad rushing you at the start with dozens of units you couldn't handle with the hero alone. I hope to see more like this in the future though!

Thanks!

Close to a perfect 10.

That missile moves just a little too fast once you get to orbit, it just speeds away.

Everything else was great. The music was a perfect choice for this. The graphics are good, but not so detailed that the game is over 3MB, nor laggy. The gameplay was smooth, although I would have liked to see keys for melee and the boost. Also, it would have been nice to separate the Rocket fire button, and the laser attack, I often found myself wishing I could unleash the rockets at a different time depending on the amount of opponents I had.
Really, a great game with good replayability, although I didn't notice the ability to upgrade until after my first run through.

I hope you had fun making this game, because I had fun playing it, and I'm sure tons of other people will too.

Interesting...

While the game is pretty simple, it will keep you occupied for a little while, however, it became very repetitive and it gets rather boring. All the while making me seem to remember how much I hate little kids during halloween.

Wow

This is very clever. It opened my eyes to how much i plan out and time my own gaming actions before I even do them. This takes skill, and timing. Not to mention expert mode is pretty tough.

Lemme just say...

you've done an awesome job. Pretty much everything here is more than I expected from chapter 0. The story is well thought out, as well as the whole combat engine and, well, everything. The reason I'm giving a 9 though, is the spelling errors. I mean, if you are gonna put so much time into this, making an amazingly well done game, you could have at least thought to spell check.
